The Warehouse Level I position is an entry level training position. The position s primary function is to maximize the selection and loading process of Nestl products by ensuring accurate orders, meeting set target rates per hour, and ensuring product integrity and quality standards are maintained throughout the loading process. Additionally, the Warehouse Loader I position for the Farmingdale cross doc will need to possess a valid CDL A license to move, back up, and park trucks safely.


Move route trucks into loading position and load product onto route trucks in the appropriate route and store sequence.

Prepare truck for operation by inspecting and documenting general condition-validating adherence to DOT standards.

Safely operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) during work stream processes of order selecting and loading. Complete and maintain internal forklift certification process.

Ability to utilize the Voice Activated Picking system. Accurately and efficiently load finished product onto delivery trucks while also maintaining accurate quality inspection forms.

Prepare all required documentation to maintain the highest quality finished product for our customers

Maintain performance expectations with respect to key performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve distribution center operations

Communicate directly with co-workers on issues, openly share ideas with others, encourage performance in others, give feedback when needed, and train new employees when applicable. Effective communication to operations and sales teams to maintain product flow and prevent distribution disruptions.

Conduct activities in a safe manner, follow corporate safety guidelines and requirements, use personal protective equipment and proactively address any unsafe conditions observed. Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance, inspection ready at all times


Ability to effectively document product fills with accuracy.

Maintain a safe operating record for powered industrial equipment.

Be at least 21 years of age for DOT covered position

Must have a valid Class A CDL with airbrake endorsement meeting DOT requirements

Successful completion of post offer background checks, drug screen, DOT physical and motor vehicle report for moving violations

2 years or more Class A driving experience in a business environment preferred

High School Diploma / GED equivalent

Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Successful completion of post offer background checks and drug screen

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule which may include early morning/late night hours; Willing to work any day of the week, weekends, Holidays and required over-time as specific to role

Must possess basic math and computer skills

Ability to work safely

Ability to read, write, understand and speak English

Pallet Jack certification preferred

1-2 years of warehouse experience preferred; Freezer/refrigerated environment a plus


Willing to work in extreme temperatures and maneuver in warehouse freezers. Subject to cold temperatures,

-20 to -40 degrees Fahrenheit while working in warehouse and trailer.

Hands/Arms: Constantly, using both hands/arms throughout the work shift while loading/unloading product using cart/hand truck including forward reaching, handling, gripping, power grasping product, carts and pallet jacks. Flexion and extension of the wrists while performing visual inspection, placing pallet jack on the floor, and moving the product on the pallets/carts onto the box truck/trailer.

Head/Neck: Frequently, moving head and neck while moving product onto trailers and in the warehouse.

Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally, lifting/carrying 10-40 pounds of product to reposition on cart or pallet.

Pushing/Pulling: Frequently, using both hands/arms while moving product via manual pallets jacks/carts exerting a force between 15-50 pounds.

Bending/Twisting: Occasionally, bending at waist 30-45 degrees while shrink wrapping or loading/unloading pallets on off truck. Bending and twisting of the upper torso and squatting when visually inspecting the pallet jacks/carts and placing pallet jack on the floor.

Kneeling/Crouching: Occasionally, while picking orders, boxes of supplies at floor level, shrink wrapping and while performing clean up tasks.

Standing/Walking: Frequently, while performing some duties in the warehouse, walking up to four hours per shift on concrete surface.

Balance: Wet and icy conditions in warehouse and trailers.

Sight/Hearing/Speech: Constantly, required to ensure safe operation in the warehouse and perform essential functions.


  • Hazards: Slippery surfaces; uneven work surfaces, wet and icy, exposure to cold, cuts and pinch points, and moving equipment.

  • Equipment Used: Self-retracting razor blade, hand truck, carts and dollies. Pallet jacks (manual and powered), forklifts, dock plates, bulkheads, straps, lift gates, hydraulic lifts, and other pallet handling equipment are to be used only if properly trained and with manager authorization.

  • Safety Equipment: Gloves, safety cones, jacket, high visibility vest, knee pads, and hearing and eye protection as required. High ankle support, slip resistant and anti-fatigue steel toed or composite safety shoes.
