Nestle EDI-SAP Functional Analyst in Glendale, California
The EDI-SAP Functional Analyst works with Nestl peers including the LGO, RBS, D&B, GTS-ICC, GXS and various business units to design, develop, maintain and enhance Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) services with integration to GLOBE SAP and legacy/heritage systems from a functional and EDI/SAP technical standpoint.
The responsibilities of this role include completing in-depth functional design, troubleshooting, identifying root issues, implementing solutions to business problems, and ensure on-time and top quality delivery of solutions. Additionally, the role is responsible for ensuring EDI and SAP production systems perform according to business needs, meet response time requirements through periodic volume and stress testing, and provide robust, reliable, recoverable and resilient functionality.
The incumbent will write functional specifications and work with SAP developers to customize SAP functionality related to EDI/SAP Integration for new and existing system deployments. They provide technical support and expertise in resolving identified application issues and problems and ensure that a design being implemented is in-line with GLOBE best practices from a functional, technical and architectural perspective. In addition, the incumbent collaborates with project managers to ensure that tightly integrated automated solutions are delivered according to the business requirement and as functionality specified.
The role serves as an internal consultant, providing functional and technical guidance and business process expertise in the most complex EDI/SAP integration requirements covering Order to Cash, Point of Sale Scan Data, Direct Store Delivery, FEDI, Claim & Rebates, Transportation and 3P EDI Warehouses.
The incumbent partners with the B2B e-Business team, SBT team, DSD team and Distributor Central Bill team to analyze the requirements of new EDI partners, customize solutions and actively participate in testing and cutover deliverables.
To be successful in this role, the Analyst must have the ability to read and debug ABAP code and connect results with business requirements and overall process flow. In addition, he/she is well versed in assessing and communicating issues to management, and understands procedures and expected system performance associated with the introduction of new processes, while seeking ways to collaborate with other functional areas to facilitate process and system transitions.
Additionally, the Analyst must have in-depth functional and technical design experience related to EDI integration with SAP, and must be able to work thru the full software development life cycle for EDI/SAP functionality e.g. work to identify business requirements, create functional design documents for EDI/SAP end to end processes, work with developers, create test scenarios and test data and execute testing on the completed deliverables.
Provide SAP EDI functional and technical expertise, usually as a member of a project team, in the analysis, design, and development of LGO systems and applications
Participate in cross functional projects including integration required for business acquisitions; perform feasibility studies, analyze partner and business process requirements and translate requirements into an appropriate design
Identify conflicting business practices and integration issues, suggest alternative solutions
Design new EDI/SAP interface solutions based on business requirements, write functional specifications and mapping documents, test and implement solutions in production support full development life cycle
Configure defined processes using best practices to satisfy business requirements; collaborate with business users, LGO, RBS, D&B, GTS-ICC and GXS to design, develop, test, train and implement process or system enhancements and production support solutions
Provide second level EDI/SAP support and after-hour support, regularly monitor performance and status of EDI/SAP functional and technical software solution, assist in the resolution of service help desk tickets; provide functional and technical assistance to customers, collaborate with appropriate teams to implement and test system fixes. Ensure that NUSA EDI Service Level Objectives (SLO s) are satisfied and excellent EDI support is provided at all times
May provide on-call, after hours support and coverage

Qualifications REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent and relevant work experience
Must be a subject matter expert in the area of EDI/SAP integration
Thorough understanding of order to cash, scan based trading, direct store delivery, distributor, FEDI, transportation and 3P warehouse business processes
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with designing EDI/SAP interface solutions to satisfy business and functional requirements
Specific knowledge of SAP SD Model, Material Handling Model, Master Data, EDI translator and mapping, middleware, and interface best practices, Nestl EDI-SAP Integration solutions and how they integrate with SAP systems
Expert understanding of EDI standards, processes, systems, architecture, Unix, and best practices is critical
Knowledge of information technologies and project implementation methodologies
Minimum of 8 years of experience in business application design, development, installation, and modification
Experience successfully developing and implementing ERP or other complex IT applications
Cross-functional experience in the order-to-cash processes e.g. materials handling, customer service, transportation, accounts payable, etc.
In-depth SAP SD functional and EDI functional experience
SAP technical experience including the understanding of ABAP code and the ability to debug in SAP
Strong track-record for delivering results in a highly matrixed and complex corporate environment
Strong technical knowledge of EDI technologies and standards including Information Documents (IDOC), EDI, Application Link Enabling (ALE), SAP functional expertise; EDI system configuration and support
Knowledge of EDI applications including Mercator and Harbinger
Strong functional and technical knowledge of SAP, especially in the SD module; ability to navigate throughout the system, data dictionary, and the related table structures
Strong proficiency in MS Access Database design and creation of associated reports
Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret technical requirements and translate them into system specifications
Excels at detail oriented work and has a proven track record of demonstrating outstanding attention to detail and setting very high standards for self
