Nestle Quality Sensory Coordinator in Danville, Virginia

This position is up to 32 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY:

The sensory technician is responsible for preparing sensory panels to test organoleptic qualities of raw ingredients, in-process ingredients and finished product. Other responsibilities include daily release of finished product, reporting of sensory results and monitoring of the shelf-life retention program. Responsible to have safe work instructions available for all positions, processes are run in accordance with SOP s, SSOP s and other documentation. All employees have the required level of safety training, all equipment and installations are well maintained with safety guards & devices and associates are using the appropriate PPE.

To assure activities being performed having an environmental impact are communicated and accomplished according to the environmental management systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Sensory Panel Preparation

Responsible to collect samples, prepare per direction, and serve finished product and ingredients to panelists. Review results and resample as directed. Maintain records of sensory evaluation on file for future reference.

  1. Product Demonstration/Preparation

Responsible to prepare visitor luncheons, product demonstrations, etc. as needed.

  1. Sensory Evaluation

Responsible to perform sensory analysis on raw ingredients and finished product. Assist in disposition of finished product as required.

  1. Shelf-Life Program

Responsible to maintain a retention program and evaluate for shelf-life. Issue appropriate reports on keeping quality.

  1. Other Duties as Assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

High School Diploma

SKILLS:

Computer skills, organizational skills.
