Nestle Terminal Supervisor in DeKalb, Illinois

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Terminal Supervisor is responsible the coaching, training, and disciplining the drivers within the terminal. The Terminal Supervisor is also responsible for facilitating safety committee meetings, administering company policies and procedures, cost savings initiatives, and projects. The Supervisor is also responsible for backing up Logistics Manager roles as required, including supporting the dispatch operation.

Job Description (brief):

Supervise employees in accordance with company policies of drivers

Maintain positive internal & external customer relations

Develop/ Monitor KPIs to meet or exceed set goals

Monitor drivers daily to ensure compliance with both Nestle and DOT requirements

Monitor equipment utilization to improve overall cost structure and service levels

Analyze transportation costs, fleet equipment availability and service levels to ensure best value options are being implemented

Collaborate with and across fleet, D.C. Operations, Logistics Control Center and Nestle divisions to ensure best practices and operational synergies are being achieved

Monitor and correct driver daily logs to ensure compliance

Train and develop drivers on tools necessary for job functions

Participate in NCE process for fleet operations including WOR s and MOR s

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor Business

Enforce policies and procedures

Measure and Communicate operational performance to include both financial performance./ service performance and compliance

Maintain consistency in process flow

Handle day to day business issues and questions from drivers

Communication with Customer Service, Deployment, Logistics, and Distribution

Attend Network and Conference Calls

Attend Team Meetings

Review and communicate KPI Reports

Monitor Terminal Budget to achieve results and improve deficits.

Training

Ensure that Drivers receive appropriate training on systems, processes, policies, behaviors, and culture to enable them to provide high standards of safety and service

Human Resource Activities

Participate in Goal/Objective Setting

Participate in the hiring process of Private Fleet drivers

Administer coverage of Terminal Manager responsibilities, approval of driver time off, and timecard approvals

Communicating company updates and news to drivers

Systems

Request new employee ID set up and systems access

Identify system issues and report to super users and/or corporate system owner

Potential system maintenance in both TMW and Peoplenet

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Reports to Terminal Manager. Maintains a professional and interdependent relationship with other managers and shared services as it pertains to each other s needs. Practices servant leadership within the guidelines of finding the best value for Nestle.

SUPERVISION GIVEN:

Direct supervision of private fleet drivers. Dotted line oversight to dispatch. Influences other Management and Shared services to achieve the best value for Nestle.

FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT:

By oversight of terminal personal, affects and influences the private fleet budgetary goals. Impact of

Customer service levels and manufacturing and DC efficiencies based on appointment

Execution. Tracks and manages exceptions that can affect fees.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

Four year college degree preferred

10% Travel

EXPERIENCE:

1-2 year transportation/logistics experience preferred, but no required.

Proven results driven approach in the logistics field preferred

Proven people management skills

Transportation systems experience preferred

Carrier/Customer/facilities management experience preferred
