We are seeking a PLC Technician for our Ontario, CA facility.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Develop and configure automation control schemes and graphics interfaces to facilitate process improvements and incorporate process, mechanical and safety interlocks

Provide administration and programming for the plants SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems while insuring that the system is secure

Evaluate and recognize the effects of online control systems changes and mitigate negative consequences to safety, production and quality

Troubleshoot and revise PLC ladder logic, HMI displays and I/O configuration

Stay abreast of current technology and strive to improve the plants process control system

Provide 24hr callout support to maintain plant operability

Provide support for process related information to the Environmental and Quality Control Department as needed to assure continuity of data used for environmental reporting and quality control purposes

Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures and process upsets

Provide control system support to maintenance and operations for process improvement projects

Assist in root cause analysis of process upsets and operation sequence of events

Provide Controls input to Process Hazard Analysis initiatives as required

In conjunction with the MOC program, provide training to ensure that affected plant personnel are aware of changes made to the control system or control system interface, and how these changes may affect process control

Participate in NCE activities, using basic problem solving tools

Ensure that effective communications are maintained with other plant departments

Promote the operating management systems by serving on various program element teams and attending monthly safety meetings

Provide leadership and support to the plant s quality and safety programs

Support, maintain and improve SAP system

Trouble shoot and repair production equipment and plant equipment

Implement automation projects for line improvements and see them through completion

Have the ability to operate and work with production technicians to solve problems on all production equipment

Effectively communicate daily equipment issues to production resource. Work hand in hand with the production resource to resolve equipment and operational issues

Provide needed assistance and training to operators regarding safe practices, GMPs, and operation of production equipment such as but not limited to case packers, fillers, automation systems, and palletizing equipment among others

Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments

Improve Line flow, using V-Curve analysis

Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by troubleshooting, identifying root cause and implementing a solution.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three or more years proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience with high and low pressure compressors, chillers, water treatment, boilers is preferred

  • Strong technical knowledge of compressed air systems (pneumatics), electrical systems, hydraulics and water processing is preferred

  • Knowledge of bottling equipment, PM programs and SAP system preferred

  • Successfully demonstrates strong mechanical abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees.

  • Must have electrical knowledge of single and three phase power including the ability to diagnose and replace electric motors

  • Must be able to work and accomplish projects with little to zero supervision

  • Must be able to foster and build a team-work environment

  • Communicate effectively with various support groups, supervisors, and team members

  • Maintain a high level of professional and organizational ethics and image with all plant and outside personnel

  • Able to read, interpret and analyze computer generated reports

  • Perform all tasks with extreme accuracy

  • Must be able to do physical inspections, (i.e. climbing, reaching, extending)

  • Must be proficient with mechanical drawings and OEM technical prints for parts identification

  • Proficient computer navigation skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications

  • Available for call-ins or to cover all shifts to support production teams as required

  • Works together with Safety department to achieve a zero injury workplace

  • Must display a positive mental attitude and be open to a fast paced ever changing work environment
