POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting/supporting the development and management of sourcing strategies for local categories and subcategories. Directly supports the execution of Nestl s 7-Step Strategic Souring Process in the North American market enabling value generation through cost improvements to Nestl business units. Actively involved in the identification and implementation of cost improvement projects while supporting the tracking of ensure supply and responsible sourcing compliance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Nestl 7 Step Strategic Sourcing Process Implementation (Self and Team)

Analyze, consolidate and rationalize market spend to highest practical category level across Nestl North America Business Units.

Engages with the collection and review all current local and regional contracts and price agreements

Engages with Nestle Global Business Service to prepare and execute the Request for Proposal while ensuring the supplier's acknowledgement of the Nestle Supplier Code

Lead change management activities that supports the sourcing strategy and facilitate execution to drive compliance

Supports the management of Frame and Child contracts in the Contract Life Management tool based on annual volumes by material/plant based on the coverage model

Ensure supply by continued development of incumbent and new supply options on an on-going basis

Financial support for Budget, Price Forecasting and other financial activities for Procurement Finance and Business Units

Assists with the yearly budget process, including Master Business Schedule and First Look requests, according to the financial cycle established.

Assists with providing monthly price forecast to meaningful level of spend (may be spend category, sub category, spec or material as appropriate)

Gather information to analyze the current forecast to previously forecast prices and prepare commentary on evolution of category including base material price drivers

Actively involved in various initiatives to provide additional value for Working Capital (Cash Flow)

Ensure Supply, Responsible Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management and Savings Tracking

Involved in the discovery and delivery of alternate sources of supplier ensuring business continuity and sustainability while minimizing business risk

Supports with engaging suppliers to conduct Responsible Sourcing audits based on established guidelines and objectives

Engages with the execution and management of the Supplier Relationship Management program and assists with the document the action items and delivered additional value to the business units

Support and assist with the entry and management of savings projects in the project tracking tool attaching documentation based on cost savings calculation guidelines and follow-up with business partners and finance for obtaining validation of savings projects

Interface and Work with Functional Leadership Teams within the Nestl Organization Including Business Partner Network and above market teams

Assists with the management of supplier quality compliance at a category level

Supports the delivery of innovation, exclusivity and first market opportunities to functional areas.

Participate in Supplier Facing Supply Chain initiatives within team to validate ideas and project opportunities with the supply base

Supports the collaboration with business units to develop and secure category sourcing strategy approvals across functional leadership

Deliver value through cost and process improvement initiatives to multiple Business Units in accordance to targets.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Category HoP, Category Leader or Category Manager. Supports Category Leader, Category Manager in the group. Formal and informal feedback given on a periodic basis.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: Monitor and address non-compliance issues with business partners. Share best practices and continuous improvement ideas with team.

FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT: Accountable for assisting in the achievement of cost improvement targets for relevant categories, while supporting ensuring supply and appropriate cost and supply risk management strategies. Assist with reporting savings in IPA as appropriate.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

2+ years purchasing experience preferred.

Category specific knowledge desirable but other category experience will qualify.

Demonstrated strategic buying ability.

Candidate must be a quick study, proven ability to adapt to change, ability to work across boundaries and boarders, strong decision making.

Excellent communicator. Demonstrated skills in collaboration. Strong analytical skills, excellent knowledge of excel. Developing effective skills in financial, market, and vendor analysis. Proven ability to define and create total cost of ownership models. Category specific knowledge of one or more categories for which the job is accountable is desired. CPM certification a plus.

SKILLS:

Financial, analytical, computer and data management and Total Cost of Ownership skills.
