JOB SUMMARY:

Provide appropriate Sensory and Consumer Preference knowledge to ensure success in Innovation & Renovation activities throughout the various stages of the project. Provide support to Market Head Office, AGs and Factories to aid the decision making process. Manage and execute consumer preference studies and sensory analyses with excellence.

JOB RESPONSILIBILIES:

Provide consumer sensory insights to Innovation & Renovation projects: Act as a proactive partner to Project Managers guiding consumer and sensory insight support to add value and influence project's success. Play an active part in cross-functional project teams within Market/AG and provide guidance on choice and use of sensory evaluation and consumer methodologies. Provide guidance to AGs and Market HO/Factory Sensory on setting up the consumer-centric sensory specifications (including acceptability limits). Identify sensory references for panel training whenever relevant for the project.

Build sensory & consumer preference knowledge on product experience.

  • Identify growth opportunities through consumer preference clusters not yet covered by Nestle products,

  • Identify cost optimization opportunities through SKUs portfolio simplification (Total Delivery Cost) and Optimization of consumer preference for product Innovation & Renovation.

  • Support Product and Process Mastership with consumer studies and sensory analyses to better understand the effect of recipe and process parameters on sensory attributes and consumer acceptance

Manage and execute consumer preference studies and sensory analyses with excellence: Define clear and time-bounded plans and prioritize resources available. Manage studies: plan, design, then analyze and present results in line with best practices and with impact to the cross-functional team. Ensure collaboration with technicians, panel leaders and external agencies in order to ensure lean and transparent execution. Manage internal and external Sensory panels.

Ensure CSI supports continuous improvement and team development: Be responsible for NQMS process continuous improvement and application for CSI support. Ensure high quality results through panel maintenance and performance (e.g. thanks to panel performance KPIs) , and participate in the recruitment and training of panel members. Ensure collaboration and communication within CSI support team, tools in place for active participation and organization of all team members. Coach CSI Associate Specialists, senior technicians / panel leaders to reach excellence in execution and autonomy. Promote participation in Category-specific training.

Supporting Quality Management to ensure Products Sensory Consistency: Sensory collaborates with QM (HO and Factory), Applications Groups and Consumer Services teams providing and coordinating sensory assistance & expertise to:

  • Guide Quality Management for sensory defect elimination &Collaborate with QA to design the sensory program for factories

  • Train the factory sensory analyst and assist them with all factory sensory evaluation activities and the implementation of In/Out test in factories. Providing support to compliance verification of sensory evaluation in factories

Build and share expertise: Contribute to improve sensory and consumer competencies within Nestle. Contribute to internal trainings and to knowledge sharing in the CSI Network across Nestle. Drive bridging and increased collaboration between sensory and consumer functions in Market.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Knowledge):

BS or MS on Food Science or related field

3 years of experience in a wide range of sensory analysis and consumer product testing techniques and their applications

Experience of leading sensory activities and/or working with sensory agencies

Experience in marketing research with exposure to a variety of consumer testing techniques in product testing is a plus

Experience in FMCG, from R&D and business side is a plus

Experience of business environment is a plus

Software knowledge: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, SAP

Strong written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Able to work well in a team environment

Independently motivated

Good interpersonal/ teamwork skills and a sense of business/ technical interrelationships
