We are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to be located in Stamford, CT or New York, NY and report to the Director of Data & Insights. As ReadyRefresh works to transform and modernize our unique business, you will have the exciting opportunity to help design and develop the systems that we use to deploy data science solutions at scale. You will be joining our growing data and insights team to help drive business decisions. We are not just looking for someone to build ETL pipelines or a static dataset, but rather someone who will help us build the future of data and insights within a mature business. The ideal candidate will know how to understand our business model with the lens of data engineering and work to enable the business utilizing data.
Data Strategy: Own the creation and evolution of a data strategy and architecture. This position is entrepreneurial in nature. You will help our team lay the foundations for, and bring thought leadership to, our data infrastructure. Build the systems that we use to deploy data science solutions. Beyond building ETL pipelines or a static dataset this role will understand our business model with the lens of data engineering and positively drive results through these systems and data. Scope data opportunities including quality, optimization, testing and tooling to improve business results. Build large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines to scale data science models and business intelligence.
Business Acumen: Exhaustive ability to validate and crosscheck metrics (by understanding the business). When these metrics don't make sense, we need to create and drive a process to define new ways of looking at this data through cross functional debate. Work in cross-functional and agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new objectives.
Data Execution: Organize business needs into logical models and ensure data structures are designed for flexibility to support scalability of business solutions. Create data end-points that become new source of intelligence for users.
Requirements and Minimum Education Level:
Bachelor s degree with an emphasis on computer or information science, applied mathematics, physics or other technical focus
4+ years in practical database design
Minimal to 15% travel required
Excellent in data representation, computer architecture and organization
Strong coding skills using Python and SQL, including standard data libraries such as pandas, SQL Alchemy etc.
Cloud experience desired, Azure preferable.
Needed experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc
